Address and directions
Dantosa’s address is 76 Mort Street, Katoomba NSW Australia.
If you're driving from Sydney, Dantosa, your journey should take around 1 hour and 20 minutes. It's a distance of 100 kilometres.
And if you're travelling by train, Dantosa is 2 kilometres from Katoomba train station. It's a short journey of 5-7 minutes by taxi or uber, or a 30 minute downhill walk.

The directions from Sydney by car are:

Drive to Katoomba via the Great Western Highway

Drive past the main centre of Katoomba (which will be on your left) and turn right at Albion St (at the set of traffic lights adjacent to a BP petrol station)

From Albion St, take the first left into Cooper St, and then the first right into Mort St
-
Drive down Mort St for just over 1 km and go past North St (on your left)

Turn left onto an off road just after the three white markers, at the Dantosa sign. Click here or on the google photo for google maps and directions

Follow the off road to Dantosa's automatic gate. It a drive of about 60 metres

Accessing the property and accommodation
Automatic gate instructions
To open Dantosa's automatic gate:

As you approach the automatic gate, set back 5 metres from the gate on the driver's side is a remote switch panel located on a post

Press "A" on the switch panel

In the unlikely event that the gate does not open, please call Derek Young on 0413 229 372

Enter the property and follow the long brick driveway
Parking and Access
Drive to the top of brick driveway to locate Dantosa House, which is past the lake and on your right. At the top of the drive you see a sign indicating the direction of Dantosa Cottage.
Dantosa Exclusive booking
If you have booked an "Exclusive" stay at Dantosa:

Your Exclusive booking means you and your group have exclusive access to Dantosa. Yours is the only booking on the property so you have complete privacy

You have access to both Dantosa House and Dantosa Cottage. Your group also has full access to Dantosa's lake, lake house, tennis court, and 9 acres of gardens and walkways

You are able to park your vehicle in any of the designated areas. There is parking for two cars near the top of the drive before you swing to the right behind the House

If you keep driving behind the House towards the Cottage, you'll find a carport with parking for 2 or 3 cars depending on their size and configuration. Further parking is available immediately outside the Cottage in the firewood and garbage bay area

If required, additional parking is allowed on the lawn immediately behind House, between the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees. Please park carefully to avoid damage to the lawn or the automowers

Accessing Dantosa House and Dantosa Cottage should have been discussed ahead of your stay. Please refer to our emails and/or text messages for instructions. You'll find key lock boxes in the following places -

Dantosa House: at the opposite end of the house to the carport you'll find the front door. As you step onto the landing porch ahead of the front door, the lock box is located on the right hand side. Please enter you code which you received to access the front door keys

Dantosa Cottage: there is an external cupboard on the entrance verandah. The lock box is located inside the cupboard. Please enter you code which you received to access the front door keys. When you unlock the sliding door, use the lever to open the door

Dantosa House booking only
If you have booked a "House" stay at Dantosa:

Your House booking means you and your group have access to Dantosa House. Your group also has full access to Dantosa's lake, lake house, tennis court, and 9 acres of gardens and walkways

Please note that there may be another group staying at the adjacent Dantosa Cottage during your stay. Dantosa includes two accommodation buildings - Dantosa House and Dantosa Cottage. The House and Cottage are about 60 metres apart

You are able to park your vehicles in one of two areas. There is parking for two cars near the top of the drive before you swing to the right behind the House

If you keep driving behind the House towards the Cottage, you'll find a carport with parking for 2 or 3 cars depending on their size and configuration

If required, additional parking is allowed on the lawn immediately behind House, between the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees. Please park carefully to avoid damage to the lawn or the automowers

When parking your vehicle, please ensure all guests on the property can easily access their accommodation and the property’s exit. Please keep the driveway behind the House free of cars. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration

You are very welcome to make use of the BBQ near the House. You will find the dedicated BBQ for Dantosa House guests located outside in the BBQ area adjacent to the main bedroom. A second BBQ is available for Dantosa Cottage guests at the Gazebo near the tennis court

If you have booked a "Cottage" stay at Dantosa:

Your Cottage booking means you and your group have access to Dantosa Cottage. Your group also has full access to Dantosa's lake, lake house, tennis court, and 9 acres of gardens and walkways

Please note that there may be another group staying at the adjacent Dantosa House during your stay. Dantosa includes two accommodation buildings - Dantosa House and Dantosa Cottage. The House and Cottage are about 60m apart

Please enjoy the lake. We ask that guests and visitors act responsibly at all times. Be aware that the lake is unfenced and guests are responsible for the safety of all members of their group, including any visitors at Dantosa

Please note occasionally delivers and contractors are required to visit the property. This applies to all bookings including Exclusive, House or Cottage. We will endeavour to forewarn you ahead of their arrival wherever possible. Thank you.
